You'll also find me blogging at The Vampire Band Blog! October
19 '07: The
idea was simple. My friend Barbara Satow is doing book
teaser videos for authors, and she was having trouble finding
stock photography that was appropriate to use for historical romances.
So together with our friend, author and photographer Rhonda
Stapleton, we decided to create a library of historical
mood shots for Barbara to use in trailers. I
love being a writer!

At the RWA conference in Dallas, it truly was an honor to be a RITA finalist. Everyone was lovely and supportive, and even though I didn't win, I felt like a VIP the entire time. (Photo, left: me with my RITA finalist flag at the RWA literacy signing.) This is me with agent Jen Schober (right). At Lori's Get Together, everyone kept mistaking Jen for me! Does she look like my long lost twin? <g>

Kathy Love and I did an 80s trivia hour for readers, Totally Rad Romance, and it was a blast. Check out Kathy and I in our petticoat skirts and jean jackets. And yes, I did actually wear a side ponytail in public. (Larger versions of all photos have been added to the gallery page.)
It was
great to see so many readers at the book fair! I was thrilled that
BLED DRY was made available to readers by my publisher, even though
it was a few days early. RT is in Pittsburgh next year and I’ll
be there. Hope to see some of you there! March

What I'm Reading... Sept. 16'06: The Devil’s Waltz by Anne Stuart. I just love a good Regency historical and Anne Stuart always delivers. This book has the smart, older heroine who is all that is proper, but hides the competitive and sensual side of her nature. The hero is a true alpha rake, who doesn’t apologize for his lousy behavior. He has a tragic past, of course, and is just to die for. The Encyclopedia of Angels by Rosemary Ellen Guiley. This was a birthday gift from Kathy Love, who knows Rosemary Guiley personally, and I am fascinated by this book. It’s research material for my second dark paranormal which I’m going to get started on in a few weeks, and I am focusing on Gabriel, Michael, and Raphael.
Twilight by Stephanie Meyer. It’s marketed as a Young Adult book, but I like her take on keeping the heroine and hero apart. Vengeance and Justice: Crime and Punishment in Nineteenth-Century America. Research for a 2008 book… I love this part of writing because I learn all sorts of interesting and weird facts! Karma Girl by Jennifer Estep. This is a book my editor asked me to read and give a quote on. She is a debut author and I’m honored and excited to be able to read it waaay before anyone else. ;-) It is set in the world of superheroes, superheroines, and villains. Should be very entertaining!

April 25'06: The History of Underclothes. This is for research purposes, but can I just say I'm so glad I've never had to wear panniers or a corset??
Nov. 15'05: I love Teresa Medeiros, and her latest, AFTER MIDNIGHT, confirmed for me why. This book is just a wonderful, witty, Regency-set vampire book. I loved the byplay between the hero and heroine, and the sexy, humorous, gothic story. I'm not sure how I'm going to be able to wait a whole year for the sequel! ;-)
